Wern Ddu

Wern Ddu is south-east of the parish church and marked on Colby's <ap of 1831 and on modern O.S. maps.

On 7th August 1755, Richard Lloyd of Wern ddu and Elinor his wife, daughter of David Evans of Cilcennin, a yeoman, gave lease for a year to William Williams and Lewis Evans, yeomen of the capital messuage and appurtenances called Wern-ddu in the occupation of Richard Lloyd, and other lands specified, so that a recovery might be suffered.

In 1760, Richard Lloyd, junior, was owner-occupier of Wern ddu and Richard Lloyd, senior, owner-occupier of Tail glase.
